Sales team

How can we sell Brussels as a Tourism and Meeting destination? Part of the answer lies in the missions of the Sales team within VISITBRUSSELS.

The Sales team sees itself as responsible for one main mission, namely that of “selling” Brussels as a destination to the various potential buyers... Simple isn’t it? Those buyers may vary in nature: event agencies, conference organisers, meeting planners, tour operators, etc.

The destination is promoted by means of various activities.

Trade fairs & shows:

· VISITBRUSSELS goes to the main trade shows and exhibitions in both business and leisure tourism. EIBTM - IMEX – WTM – ITB

· VISITBRUSSELS also goes to activities organised by WBT (Wallonie Bruxelles Tourisme) and TVL (ToerismeVlaanderen).

· VISITBRUSSELS organises its own missions in the emerging markets, including Russia, India, the Arab Emirates, etc.

The aim is to have the different partners whom we represent accompany us, namely hoteliers, owners and managers of function rooms and halls, and service providers (DMC - PCO - transport) working in the region of Brussels and/or bringing tourists and conference participants to it. Without their presence, these missions would not make as much sense. We therefore undertake to communicate our missions a long time in advance and will adapt the content of them according to the number of partners and their expectations.

Brussels will be represented abroad many times in 2013, at trade shows, workshops, during economic missions and trade missions led by the Crown Prince.

Enclosed with this e-mail is a list of our activities. Please let us know if you are interested in any of these missions. We’ll get back to you with more detailed programmes according to the number of partners who have expressed an interest.

The Sales team consists of 5 members:

Sales Manager: Anousjka Schmidt

" Everything for the job ".

Anousjka has been working for VISITBRUSSELS for 22 years! Needless to say, she knows every nook and cranny of Brussels, all the top tips, who’s who, etc. Anousjka manages this newly-formed team and brings all her experience in order to continue increasing the number of tourists who come to Brussels for business or pleasure.

Sales Support Coordinator : Julie Van Muysewinkel

" All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them "

Julie joined the Sales team in March 2012. This is already her 3rd position within VISITBRUSSELS after being Tourism Advisor and Office Supervisor Grand-Place. Her knowledge of everything the region has to offer tourists is obviously a considerable asset in her new role.

Sales Executive : Patricia Vergara

" Affirm what you really want, then wait: the Universe will provide it in very unpredictable ways "

Patricia has been working for VISITBRUSSELS for 12 years. Firstly, in charge of the guides for 9 years, then managing all of the “reception” side of the conferences and meetings. She is now an integral part of the Sales team, with a more specific knowledge of the leisure market.

Account Manager : Thierry Van Eyll

Thierry joined the Sales team in April 2012, after working for SN Brussels Airlines. Previously, he was able to develop his skills in various companies, associations and NGOs based in Canada and in different regions of Africa. He brings his extensive knowledge of Brussels and a smart approach to associations.

Account Manager : Julien Descurieux

" Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results "

Julien joined the Sales team in June 2012. Previously, he was able to look at everything Brussels has to offer by working for the Convention Bureau team of VISITBRUSSELS for a year. He brings with him his events background, having worked for more than six years for a company providing team-building and incentives.
