The targeted tours: The reign of Leopold II and 19th century Brussels
In the wake of the great king-builder Leopold II, you’ll discover the Jubilee Park (1880) and its prestigious museums: the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and of Military history and the Royal Museum for Art and History. In a corner near the Great Mosque stands the neo-classical Horta Pavillion.
If requested, the tour can include a one- hour-visit to the Royal Museum for Central Africa in Tervuren.
We return to the Royal District and the Brussels Central Park by way of the wide avenues laid out during the reign of the second king of the Belgians. On our way we’ll admire public sculptures by famous artists like Guillaume Geefs, Jean-Joseph Jacquet, Eugène Simonis, Auguste Rodin, Constantin Meunier, Charles Van der Stappen, Thomas Vinçotte, Jef Lambeaux...
Although the standard tour doesn’t include a museum visit, requests for a visit to e.g. the Royal Army Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts … will be met. (further information : see header Museums)
Duration : 3 hrs, several stops included (coach provided by group)
