As the clock strikes 6 the Grand-Place will set the night alight to offer you a sparkling inauguration evening. The new light and sound show will illuminate the most beautiful Grand-Place in the world and traditional Christmas tree. As the parade walks through the illuminated streets, it symbolically inaugurates each key location of the Christmas Market. This sparkling evening will liberate the enticing charms of the Winter Wonders.
Mister Emma Art Loft

This year, the misteremma.com website celebrates its tenth birthday. On this occasion, Mister Emma will take his quarters at the Monnaie Centre until 4 January 2015 where he will offer a unique, novel universe that falls into the programming of the Christmas festivities.
He invites you in his 1000 square meters apartment (sic) and artists' workshop, comprising several booths occupied by various cultural players, such as Belgian record labels, designers, fashion designers, painters and photographers, publishing houses : more than 30 happenings are already on the agenda.
Apart from these punctual encounters, permanent exhibitions will take place. Painting workshops, as well as artistic after work parties will be on offer.

The Aids Prevention Platform and its partners once again mobilise on the occasion of the World Aids Day on 1 December. On Saturday 29 November, red ribbons and condoms will be given out to visitors of the Winter Wonders.

Going beyond a mere exhibition, the organisers have decided to stage the artistic projects as a playful course inspired by the atmosphere created by the Winter Wonders. It’s the perfect occasion to show visitors a wide palette of talents through various contemporary disciplines: installations, illustration, video mapping... Concerts, shows and workshops will pace the event. An encounter at the heart of festive season that won't let anyone cold.

Ball on the Grand-Place
This moment of grace gathers around 100 couples of every level swinging and circling around and around on the paving of the Grand-Place to the sound of the most beautiful waltzes.
On Friday 19 December at 20:00, two waltz sessions will be organised in collaboration with the Belgian Waltz Committee, alternately with the light and sound show.
Whilst there is no dress code, ladies are advised to dress warmly and to take a long, full skirt or dress.

The Make a Wish tradition
The South Belgium Make-A-Wish charity fulfils the wishes of severely ill children whose life is threatened by disease to bring them hope, strength and joy. Following the tradition and on the eve of its 25th birthday, Make-A-Wish will be at the foot of the impressive Christmas tree on the Grand-Place. Next 20 and 21 December, by buying a magical star on which you will write one of your wishes, dreams or ambitions, your generosity will contribute to realising one of the dreams of a little prince or princess whose life sorely lacks one of the many gifts that we take for granted.
WINTER WONDERS FOR INFANTS & TODDLERS
Within the framework of Winter Wonders, we present the ‘Infants and Toddlers Wonders’: afternoon activities for the whole family aimed at children from 0-6 under the supervision of early childhood professionals.
All these moments aim at helping your children discover new sensations and trigger exchanges between the various families present at the Early Childhood Section.

Concertini on the ice rink

Within the magical setting of the Grand Foyer, the Monnaie opera house hosts Concertini every Friday nights: 45 minutes of chamber music related to the operas, concerts and recitals on the season's programme. In partnership with the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, the Winter Wonders will broadcast the concertini on the Place de la Monnaie and the Ice Rink live. Lovers of chamber music: come and enjoy these wonderful lunchtime concerts or still, dance on your skates to the delightful music.
