visit.brussels is the tourism communication agency for the Brussels-Capital Region, the aim of which is to widen and improve the image of the capital of 500 million Europeans.
 
It is organised into five pillars, each of which has its own objectives, in order to carry out the department's mission.
 
This promotion and communication mission is carried out in line with a peer marketing strategy which aims to reach members of communities of interest (comics, art nouveau/deco, jazz, surrealism, Europe, contemporary art, gastronomy, etc.) or communities of identity (conference goers, international associations, families, LGBT community, etc.) by promoting the assets of Brussels for these communities.

The Association Bureau, part of the Convention & Association Bureau, is in charge of promoting Brussels to international associations, positioning Brussels as the capital of international associations, and providing support for international associations in their different Brussels-based projects. The unit's aim is to become a privileged partner for international associations based in or wishing to move to Brussels, federate the different associative stakeholders active in Brussels, and, thanks to the different services provided, attract new international associations to settle in the capital of Europe. By attracting new associations to Brussels, the Association Bureau is automatically developing the number of associative meetings and congresses held in Brussels. It works with the Convention Bureau with this goal in mind. The unit is also in charge of the "Associations" product and the packaging of the offer in terms of the destination.
 
 
Position in the company
 
The Association Manager reports to and works directly with the Convention & Association Bureau Director.
 
Tasks
 
- Ensure the management of the Association Bureau
- Set up the Association Bureau in collaboration with the Association Advisor
- Develop a strategy and an action plan for the Association Bureau
- Ensure that the objectives concerning the different actions are achieved within a precise budgetary framework
- Develop an effective communication in order to improve the visibility and perception of the destination for the association target
- Work with the different Brussels-based stakeholders (Impulse.Brussels, Brussels Invest & Export, Solvay Business School, Actiris, European Business Summit, FAIB) and international stakeholders (ESAE, UIA) for the implementation and development of the Association Bureau
- Development of the Global Association Hubs Partnership
- Setting up of a networking platform
- Setting up of a one-stop desk for all questions concerning the installation of international associations in Brussels
- Supervise the organisation of the European Association Summit
- Setting up of the Association Bureau's different communication tools (website, brochure, etc.) in association with the communication department
- Ensure the progress of Brussels in terms of its positioning as a host city for international associations
- Develop the services offered by the Association Bureau to gradually expand the offering
- Collaborate with the Convention Bureau with a view to developing requests for meetings and congresses in Brussels.
 
Profile
 
- Master's degree
- At least 5 years of experience in the association sector
- Very good knowledge of the world of international associations and international institutions in Brussels
- Capacity to federate different stakeholders around a common project
- Good knowledge of computer tools
- Be hands-on, responsive, dynamic and organised
- Show autonomy and enjoy teamwork
- Be proactive, be able to anticipate and take the initiative
- Have a customer-oriented spirit and demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Able to resist stress and be flexible at work
- Excellent trilingual language skills (fr-nl-en)
- You are passionate about Brussels.

Le Convention Bureau, au sein du Département Convention & Association Bureau, est en charge de la promotion de la destination vers la Meetings Industry, du développement commercial pour les congrès, conventions et foires & salons internationaux et de l’accompagnement des organisateurs dans leurs projets Bruxellois. L’objectif de la cellule est de concrétiser un maximum de projets et de fidéliser les clients à la destination grâce aux différents services fournis. La cellule est également en charge du développement du produit " Meetings " et de packager l’offre au niveau de la destination.
 
Place dans l’organisation
 
Business Development Expert dépend de la Manager du Convention Bureau et du Directeur du Convention & Association Bureau.
 
Missions
 
Business Development Expert a pour mission:
 
 
• Rechercher et démarcher proactivement les congrès, conventions et foires et salons de grande ampleur ayant un potentiel pour la destination
• Fédérer les acteurs locaux pour porter des candidatures.
• Présentations, coordination des offres, production de bidbooks, suivi des dossiers, visites techniques, accueil avant, pendant et après l’évènement, service après-vente, évaluation.
• Convertir un maximum de demandes internationales de 500 participants et plus sur Bruxelles.
• Accompagner les organisateurs dans leurs projets à Bruxelles par des conseils, les services d’accueil et du fonds.
• Développer le contenu de l’offre bruxelloise en matière de congrès, conventions et foires et salons.
• Packager l’offre de manière à rendre la destination attractive.
• Fidéliser les clients sur Bruxelles.
• Faire progresser Bruxelles en terme de positionnement comme destination de réunions.
• Business Development Expert est responsable de certains éléments du plan d’action. Pour ceux-ci le responsable veille à ce que les objectifs liés aux différentes actions soient atteints dans un cadre budgétaire précis.
 
Profil :
 
• Détenir un diplôme niveau Bachelor ou un Master.
• Expérience de minimum 3 ans dans une fonction commerciale ou de gestion de projet.
• Expérience dans le secteur de la Meetings Industry ou secteur associatif est un plus.
• Bonnes connaissances des outils informatiques.
• Etre impliqué(e), réactif(ve), dynamique et organisé(e).
• Faire preuve d’autonomie tout en aimant le travail d’équipe.
• Etre proactif(ve), faire preuve d’anticipation et prendre des initiatives.
• Avoir l’esprit orienté client et faire preuve d’une excellente communication.
• Curiosité et capacité d’écoute

You'll work in a small and nice team, under the responsibility of the Software Architect.
 
Required experience

•3+ years of coding clean, object-oriented, namespaced PHP (5.3 and 5.5+)
•2+ years developing with Symfony 2.3, 2.6+ and Symfony 1.4
•Doctrine ORM and SQL language
•Twig templating language
•Understanding of versioning tools and experience using GIT
•Knowledge of Elastic Search
•Knowledge of Memcache
•Knowledge of HTTP Protocol
•Experience with big databases and writing efficient, future-proof relational datamodels
